Fees
Frequently asked questions about fees and insurance.
Do you accept insurance?
Two of the psychologists at PACT, both Dr. Frame and Dr. Miller, are now accepting insurance. Dr. Frame is credentialed through Aetna and BCBS of Texas for therapy, and Dr. Miller is credentialed through Aetna. Otherwise, we typically act as private pay, fee-for-service providers. We are able to provide detailed invoices (aka superbill) that you may submit to your insurance for out-of-network costs.
PACT does not accept insurance for assessments because we only offer comprehensive assessments that insurance simply will not reimburse for in a way that makes it financially viable. Insurance for assessment benefits is difficult to work with because insurance companies attempt to dictate provider’s professional judgment in ways that can impact your care, including limiting the amount of time spent with clients or the types of assessment instruments we can utilize in your testing. Additionally, insurance does not typically reimburse for any academic testing. Upon request, you can be provided with documentation that you may submit to your insurance company. Depending upon the specifics of your policy, you may be partially reimbursed for some of the services we provide. It is important that you know that because insurance requires information related to diagnoses and procedure codes, the “superbill” (as it is termed in the insurance world) will contain potentially sensitive information that will become part of your record with the insurance company.
The amount of reimbursement varies by plan, so please contact your insurance directly for verification. We cannot guarantee payment of your claims from insurance companies.
We require a credit card on file to reserve your appointment time. Your card will be charged if you do not show up for your appointment, or if you give less than 24 hours notice, canceling an appointment when it is not a true emergency.
Psychological services or behavioral health services are generally able to be paid for with a Health Savings Account (HSA) and/or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). These can be entered as a credit card, which enables the services to be tax-deductible. Please check with your specific HSA or FSA to determine if any restrictions apply.
